HEARTS & FLOWERS FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

Nina made simple cookies this year - they make a fun arrangement on the plate. 

I love these little bite-sized "pop in your mouth" hearts - or maybe they are two-bite cookies? I see they are my favorite ginger cookies. Are you are sending me some? I hope! YUM!

WILL YOU BE MY VALENTINE?

Nina's Valentine cookies last year were truly beautiful! But - they weren't finished in time to post before Valentine's Day. We are always rushing to get things done, often inspired at the last moment and then there's the matter of taking photos. And some of us just have too many interests! Maybe we need to work a year ahead . . .   

Nina writes: I made big chocolate heart cookies for Valentine's Day. This one is my favorite.

I love to create lots of variations and watch the designs evolve.

I usually make simple designs, too, like these sugar cookies.

The heart is one of my favorite shapes!

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!

Nina created black and white ginger cookie mittens as a Christmas gift for the children on her list this year. She included edible markers to color them and complete the gift. 

With such cold weather all over the country (except in Southern California) the images are warming. Good job Nina!

LIGHT BULBS, PACKAGES AND SNOWFLAKES

I love Nina's Christmas cookies this year! Her colors are wonderful - red and green of course, add white and blue and then add yellow and pink? It works! 

Old fashioned big colored lights are back.  

Bright colored packages tied up with string. These are a few of my favorite things. And this is my favorite cookie! Nina added half of a flower cookie to a square and here it is - very cute! 

Circular snowflakes round out the trio - cool in icy blue and white.  

YUM - these look good enough to eat! Will you bring us some Nina?

DOGS at WOODS

Jill volunteers for Woods Humane Society in San Luis Obispo on the Central Coast of California. December 7 was their Open House. Jill makes dog cookies for the event every year. Real live dogs dress up and come with their people to have their pictures taken with Santa. 

Black Horse Espresso and Bakery provides more delectable treats baked by pastry chef Matthew Mimmack and a good time is had by all.
